La route péninsule

Our trip to Devlin's exhibition in Saudákrókur

Winding our way round the peninsula of Trollaskagi, our first stop were the streets of Siglufjordur, which has a bakery, a grog shop and everything.

Spiky mountains on a slippery road

Our second stop, the hamlet of Hofsós

Home of stunning views

and rich old ladies who build infinity pools

Onwards to Saudárkrókur for the art exhibition as the afternoon sun came out.

The art shack

Samples of work by artist Devlin Shea

The taxonomy is done by the town baker, who runs a lovely bakery next door

The spread I was all over like a rash, including homemade gooey almond biscuits compliments of the baker

Driving back home the way we came, we stopped in at the infinity pool for a paddle

and a liquorice covered, liquid liquorice filled ice cream

A radioactive cobalt/magenta blend, the waxing gibbous moon and a lingering taste of liquorice heralded our departure for home
